Founder’s Story
As a veteran with chronic pain, 3 TBIs and PTSD myself, I know a little about what you may be going through. In my case, my first of 3 concussions in the military was when we flipped my tank (contraindicated for career growth, great for getting PTSD) and the last when I fell off the top of a 5-ton truck that was on top of a train doing railhead operations (last time I don't have 3 points of contact, but in my defense, that stupid chock block was not coming out from the wheel well...). In between I got to be in the Battle of 73 Easting in the unit all the books get written about (more PTSD, Joy!).
In dealing with the pain and the PTSD for over 30 years, I have learned what works and what doesn't. I spent years trying to run from it, deny it existed, but the PTSD always catches up to you. Chronic pain, on the other hand, is a constant companion that never leaves. Having lost a kidney to cancer (thank you Burn Pits) I don't have the luxury of taking pain pills and so must grin and bear it. I have spent thousands of dollars on patches, creams, massages, acupuncture, chiropractors, gravity tables and other things that I hoped would help me with the constant pain. I finally realized, with the help of some amazing therapists at the VA, that I had wasted my money and should have looked within for relief. I wish the VA had done it 30 years earlier, but I am thankful for the chronic pain class that taught me so much about how to better deal with pain.
After years of insomnia, pain, and PTSD, I know what it’s like to face chaos and come back stronger. The relaxation techniques that I learned in the VA were very similar to those I had learned before, but it was the cognitive behavioral aspects that helped my pain become more manageable. I created this recording in order to help Veterans like myself who know that something is wrong, but are not yet ready to seek the help they need. I also wrote this because I know, sometimes all you need is to be able to get a good night's sleep.
That’s why GenieUs offers a dedicated section for veterans, with free access to hand-picked subliminals. Upcoming subliminals will include better sleep, mission focused mindset and PTSD.
You led before. You fought before. Now lead yourself into a new era.
This isn’t just an audio file. It’s a piece of relief. Something I made so you don’t have to white-knuckle through every flare-up. Layered sound. Proven techniques. And a message from someone who knows what that kind of pain feels like.
Thank you for your service. And if this helps even one of you rest easier tonight, I’ll sleep better too.
